Josh McDaniels announce that Kyle Orton would be the Denver Broncos starting Quarterback for the 2009 season. Orton was acquired from Chicago in a trade that involved Jay Cutler and several draft picks.

Knowshon Moreno, the Broncos 12th overall pick in the First Round of the 2009 NFL Draft, has gotten permission from Darrent Williams family to use the number 27. Denver Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams was shot and killed on Jan. 1st, 2007 after leaving a nightclub just hours after ending the 2006 season.

Moreno was a First Round Draft Pick, 12th Overall, last weekend. Followed by Robert Ayers at 18th.

The Broncos organization called Williams mother, Rosalind Williams, to ask permission to use her late sons number 27.

Moreno wore the number to the teams voluntary minicamp on Friday.

There is a condition, however. The Williams family plans to ask Moreno to donate some time every month to the Darrent Williams Teen Center. The center was opened last May to honor the memory of Darrent Williams in a Denver low-income area.

"We knew that number wasn't going to be on the shelf forever," said Troy Asmus, spokesman for the Williams family. "We would like Knowshon to be part of the community center to help with the growth and maturation of these kids."

Morenos college number, 24, is currently worn by Pro Bowl, All-Pro cornerback Champ Bailey.

It was thought that QB Jay Cutler would forfeit a $100,000.00 workout bonus since he failed to show up at the Broncos voluntary workouts. However, since Cutler was traded to the Chicago Bears recently (who have not started their off-season workouts) he will be able to collect on it as long as he attends 90% of the voluntary workouts.

The Broncos are looking to have a rough year with the trading of Jay Cutler and some of the decisions “The Coach” has been making since taking the reins to the team earlier this year.

With the NFL Draft coming up later this month, the Broncos have some serious decisions to make. Will it be at the Defensive level, where the team sucked in recent years, or at the QB level now that our franchise QB is in Chicago with the Bears? Stay tuned.

My baby boy is due to come screaming into the world sometime in March. Last year the wife and I took a trip out west with a stop in Las Vegas. Long story short, we came back as winners.

I can’t even begin to describe the feeling I am having lately. Sometimes I border on elation to downright freaking out!!! If someone ever tells me that they understand this feeling and they have never had kids I will tell them that they are full of shit. These are feelings reserved for the mother and father to be. Arlene is getting bigger every day. She has now backed off from working full time and now only works on the weekend. It’s not a lot of money but it gets her out of the house and out of bed. I think she would go insane if she was trapped in this house 24/7. Its good for her.
