So Long Peyton. Hello Brady...

The Denver Broncos have traded Peyton Hillis and to
future draft picks to the Cleveland Browns for
quarterback Brady Quinn.
I have mixed feelings abut this trade. Like many Broncos fans, I liked Peyton Hillis. He is a very strong Back that was underutilized last year for whatever reason. I think Cleveland will benefit from having him in their system. However, we are talking about the Browns, so we’ll see.
Brady Quinn? I don’t know much about the 25 year old QB. I have read that he has played in a McDaniels-type system in Notre Dame and did very well. He was a 1st round pick in the Draft 4 years ago, but really never had an opportunity to flourish in Cleveland. Let’s face it, the Cleveland Browns are not that great of a team.
If Quinn is used in Denver properly, he may be able to thrive with the use of some of Denver’s weapons. Eddie Royal, Jabar Gaffney, Brandon Stokley and even Brandon Marshall, if he remains in Denver, would benefit from the strong armed Quinn.
What does this mean for Kyle Orton and the Denver Broncos? Competition. Which is always good. My prediction here is that Chris Simms is cut, Orton starts with Quinn as backup and Brandstater as third stringer. Unless Quinn comes in and blows Kyle away in training camp, I see Brady as a short-term project for McDaniels to see how quickly he can grasp the system. Orton has more time in Josh’s actual system, but as mentioned, Quinn played in a very similar system in Notre Dame and could come in and pick it up very fast and with the way Denver’s offseason antics have been the last few years we may see a new starter come the Fall.
We shall see...

Brandon Marshall Out of Denver! Or Is He?

Brandon Marshall may have played his last time for the
Denver Broncos, representing them at the 2010 Pro Bowl
in Miami this past weekend. Or has he? Marshall had
this to say:
"I love the city of Denver. I started there and would love to finish there. I'm down here enjoying the Pro Bowl."
Fellow All-Star Champ Bailey had his own thoughts:
"I'll put it like this: The way things have gone, I'd be surprised if he's back," Bailey said. "I've seen it happen to the best of the best and the worst of the worst."
I think Denver will trade Marshall for draft picks. What those picks turn out to be are yet to be seen. March seems a long ways away...
